Today's Meanness

The sun stained sky bleeds onto the water

I hear myself yelling at my old dog

Down on the cold ground, in the wind

It’s the wrong name, but,

It’s me

Mean hearted and impatient

I forget a lot, when feelings are down and dark

What color actually tastes like

But someone baked me cookies today

The wood stove lit easily

Now, me and my dog settle on the couch

And together we dream of being on the beach
